The Offering:

  • Sept 15-18 stay at Halfmoon Haven Beachfront Retreat and Spa, on British Columbia's Sunshine Coast.

  • April Retreat is currently SOLD OUT

    -Please inquire directly if you wish for an additional night stay before or after the retreat.
    -Fall retreat will have one extra night stay, additional meals, a cacao ceremony, a meditative dance experience led by guest teacher, and an extra nature adventure.

  • Pre-arranged transportation from Sunshine Coast (Langdale Ferry Terminal) to Halfmoon Haven, and to all nature excursions.

  • All meals provided: whole foods focused on local and seasonal ingredients.

  • Hydrotherapy Spa and Beach Amenities (ocean view hot tub, wet/dry cedar sauna, aromatherapy steam room, cold plunge, refreshing ocean dips at your doorstep.

  • Nature excursions and land based learning.

  • Intentional Experiences (e.g. Breathwork Journeys, Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Sound Healing, Meditation, Hatha Yoga...etc).

What is Breathwork?

Conscious Connected Breathwork is one of the most powerful tools for transformation, trauma release, and Self Realization. It differs from Yogic Breathing (e.g. Pranayama), or Wim Hof Breathing (cold therapy breathing).  There are many styles and approaches to Breathwork, all with various outcomes. This approach is direct, yet gentle, effective, and inclusive.

Conscious Connected Breathwork Journeys can take people into spaces of deepened awareness and natural healing.   Transformation naturally occurs, without over-efforting or exertion.   Every aspect of Life is nourished through this balanced breathing.  Immunity is boosted, blood flow and circulation is increased, suppressed emotions and personal power are integrated, and past trauma or stress patterns are liberated. 

This practice offers a portal to personal empowerment, and infinite connection, with amplification of self-awareness, and radical compassion. Facilitated by Jenn Field, circles include introduction, explanation, guided breathwork journey, and an integration circle.

What is Non-Sleep Deep Rest?

Non-Sleep Deep Rest (Yoga Nidra or NSDR) is an ancient sleep based meditation (>2000 year old practice) that takes the body and mind towards a relaxed theta and delta brainwave state. This is where the the body enters into a healing parasympathetic space, allowing the mind to quiet and thoughts to drop.

NSDR creates the opprtunity for the body to replenish energy, repair and regenerate cells, strengthen immunity, and rebalance hormones, such as those responsible for good mood (serotonin) and connection (oxytocin).

Research have shown NSDR to help reduce stress, anxiety, insomnia, and process and release historical trauma and stress. It enhances well-being, positive patterns and habits, and a sense of wholeness and interconnectivity.

Healing Rest experiences will be guided by Dr. Diana Liu, which will be combined with Yin Yoga and Sound Therapy.

Imagine starting and ending your retreat experience in a private float plane with a magical birds-eye view of the stunning West Coast islands.

  • Book a float plane that overlooks the entire west coast landscapes from Richmond, Vancouver to Sechelt, Sunshine Coast. There will be a group discount rate (email us for more details).

Dr. Diana Liu

Dr. Diana Liu has spent over the last decade in the exploration of holistic health and spiritual well-being.

She is also a general dentist with a focus on dental sleep medicine (supporting kids and adults with sleep apnea) on the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia. Her long path in academia pursuing a Bachelors in Biochemistry and a Masters of Business, followed by climbing the corporate ladder as a Financial Analyst, led her down a path of burnout, chronic anxiety, and insomnia.

Yoga, Non-Sleep Deep Rest Meditation (e.g. Yoga Nidra) and optimizing Sleep and Rest have played pivotal roles in her personal healing journey. As a 200-hour certified Yoga and Meditation Teacher and CBT-i trained Sleep Coach, she is passionate about sharing and supporting others on their healing journey to revive health and sleep, take control of their nervous system, and live a grounded and connected life. One of her deepest joys is to connect like-hearted and minded people together in transformative and meaningful ways!

Jenn Field

Jenn Field offers grounded, practical wisdom to support conscious awareness, authentic connection, and balanced living.

With an extensive background serving underprivileged, aged and disabled people through her 16 years of Social work, Jenn has devoted even more time studying and practicing alternative and holistic healing modalities, both locally and Internationally.   

With personal triumph and professional experience in complex trauma, Jenn shares Nervous System stabilization, and ongoing personal empowerment, through Conscious Connected Bodywork and Breathwork.

With a foundation in Self Inquiry, and radical honesty, Jenn offers in-depth support through her popular Personal Sessions and Community Breathwork Journeys   After years of experience hosting and facilitating retreats, she loves working with Private Groups and serving Professionals in achieving greater vitality, and long term sustainability.

Together with her husband, they own and operate “Halfmoon Haven Beachfront Retreat and Spa”, on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada.   Over the last two decades, it has become known as a special oasis, inspiring positive transformation and healing.

Guest Teacher: Julie Plotkin

Julie’s passion is helping people find a deeper connection with themselves and their bodies, as well as within community.

One of Julie’s greatest joys and gifts is her ability to help people find more freedom in their bodies, more easeful movements, and release of tension and stress.

Julie has been interested in personal growth and the healing arts for over two decades. After completing a B.A. in Philosophy, she became fascinated with movement and the healing arts. She was fuelled by a desire to find pathways that led to deep transformational healing in the body-heart-mind.

About 5Rhythms®:

This desire led her to the 5Rhythms® Dancing Path, and she has been teaching since 2014. The 5Rhythms® is a conscious dance practice, a moving meditation, and a spiritual path. There are no steps or choreography to learn; the invitation is to be willing to authentically and creatively express how you are feeling in each moment, allowing movement to come organically and effortlessly from the body.

Students often experience feelings of release, openness and connection during and after a class. A 5Rhythms® session can be a deeply spiritual, transformational, healing experience. 

Previous dance experience is not needed to participate in a 5Rhythms® class. It is available to any body, any size, any gender or sexual orientation, any ability, and any age.

Halfmoon Haven offers a rejuvenating indoor/ outdoor spa, which includes infrared sauna, ocean view outdoor hot tub, aromatherapy steam room, wet/dry cedar sauna, and cold plunge.
