WHY ROOTED IN REST
For generations, women have been conditioned to function in a world built on systems that ignored the intelligence of the body.
With the rise of the Industrial Revolution, human value became equated with output.
Productivity, efficiency, and linear progress were prioritized
—qualities modeled after machines.
As society industrialized, so did our internal rhythms.
We began to ignore signals like tiredness, hunger, exhaustion, and overstimulation,
replacing them with stimulants, discipline, hustle, achievement, striving, and overdrive.
Overlay this with centuries of patriarchal influence
—which values logic over intuition, doing over being, performance over presence and truth—
and it becomes clear why us women - our mother, grandmothers, great grandmothers -

Dr. Diana Liu is a yoga, meditation, nidra, sound healing guide, and holistic airway dentist with over a decade of experience teaching mind-body practices.
She is also a certified holistic Rest Coach and founder of Rest to Thrive.
She once lived in a state of chronic stress and burnout - insomnia, anxiety, panic attacks, flare ups in her joints. She knows what it’s like to push through exhaustion, to feel stretched too thin, and to wonder if peace was even possible. At one point, almost quitting and walking away from dentistry entirely.
Everything changed when she discovered the power of rest — not just as a concept, but as a healing state of the nervous system. She began learning how to regulate and rewire her own nervous system. She discovered somatic tools that helped her move out of survival mode and into deep rest and inner safety. She reconnected back to her body, and began to sleep again.
Her life today is no longer run by stress or burnout, but anchored in resilience, peace, and vitality.
